Proclaim April National Donate Life Month Mayor Morris read prepared resolution and invited OneLegacy Ambassadors Mani Kapa and Nandini Kapa forward to accept. CICLAVIA April 22, 2018 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. Larry Stevens Assistant City Manager of Community Development gave a description of activities and timeline of events including the city's Earth Day event. Under the provisions of the Brown Act, the legislative body is prohibited from taking or engaging in discussion on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. However, your concerns may be referred to staff or set for discussion at a later date. Members of the City Council 1) Appointments to the Equestrian and Public Safety Commissions Page 3 Councitmember Vienna announced the appointments of Doug Aschenbrenner and Menyoun Andrade to the Equestrian Commission. Mayor Morris announced the appointment of Albert Behr to the Public Safety Commission and indicated that future vacancies will be filled from the pool of applicants interviewed. MOTION: Motion/second by Councilmembers Vienna/Ebiner to appoint Doug Aschenbrenner and Menyoun Andrade to the Equestrian Commission. The motion passed by unanimous vote. City Council Minutes March 27, 2018 Page 4 ® Commended the Sheriff's Department on the Stage Race. ® Thanked Gary Enderle and volunteers on the success of "The Wall That Heals ". ® Announcement of volunteers needed for annual trail cleanup. ® Attendance at the funeral for Officer of Gregory Casillas. ® Email from members of community Mr. & Mrs. Darryl? regarding the city opting out of California Sanctuary Laws. Councihnember Ebiner reported /commented on: Complimented the HEROS and BUSD on hosting the "Wall That Heals" Councilmember Badar reported /commented on: Thanked the HEROS Organization for a successful event. Proposal to Council for a study session to discuss the matters involving the city, state and federal government. Councitmember Bertone commented/reported on: Congratulated everyone on the success of the events this past weekend. Housing Bill SB827 and the SGVCOG taking a stand against this bill. City Attorney Steres clarified for Council that the topic proposed for discussion by Councilmember Badar did not qualify for a closed session. City Manager Michaelis indicated that staff will check the calendar and provide preliminary dates for Council to consider for having the discussion. Mayor Morris commented /reported on: The success of "The Wall That Heals" and all events in the city over the weekend.
